Nice, France

As a photographer, it was my dream for a literal decade to visit the south of France to experience the lavender fields. Steven and I decided to make my dream come true by having our 10 year wedding anniversary (!!) vow renewal in Provence and the French Riviera!

After a quick layover in Istanbul, we gathered with our family, Steven’s sister’s family, and his parents in Nice, France to start our trip.

We stayed near the Cours Saleya of Nice’s Old Town (Vieux Nice). I loved that area so much! They have the Marché aux Fleurs, a vibrant fresh market most mornings where you can buy fresh fruit, French goods like soap and lavender, and each tent has beautiful pastel stripes.

For brunch, we ate at Popote Bistrot, which had unbelievably delicious savory crepes (best I’ve ever had) with fresh ingedients like salmon lox, truffle, and more.

We visited the Bellanda Tower for beautiful 360 degree views of Nice’s city and beach. It’s free to visit! A can’t miss place is the Colline du Chateau, a magnificent park with views of the city and a beautiful waterfall. Our kids were so hot. Thankfully we came prepared with many neck fans, hats, and water misters to keep us cool.

Fenocchio gelato - around since 1966!

We had the most fabulous dinner at Noto Nice. Service, food, dessert, and surprise live entertainment of a guitarist and fun singer = 10/10!!! Highly recommend this one! We sat on the outdoor patio which is where they perform :)

Most incredible basil panna cotta where they drizzle the raspberry sauce over it to create this art

A beautiful Nice sunset to end day one!

Since we missed the famous Marché aux Fleurs the first day, we made sure to get there on day 2!

So fresh and delicious! Check out that red color.

Maison Pellegrino was one of the best meals we had the entire trip. In the front, it’s a wine shop and in the back, they have a lovely private dining area where every dish they bring out is better than the last!

A perfect simple ribeye

Stay tuned for part 2!
