Provence (Verdon Gorge, Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, Establoun), France

Needless to say, we left the most stunning part of our trip for last: the beautiful region of Provence! We found an Airbnb in the small village of Establoun (population of ~500). Our Airbnb was amazing, featuring fun amenities like a dart board that the kids loved and a truly lovely backyard with lavender bushes and olive trees.

Within a 30 min long drive, we arrived at Verdon Gorge and boy did it stun! The turquoise water was completely clear and perfect for swimming. We rented a paddle boat for 1 hour to experience the beauty of the canyon.

The happiest boy

One of the best hidden gem villages was Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, located right by the Verdon Gorge. So many cute boutique shops located within the cliffs of the city. We missed out on the delicious restaurant scene because you truly can’t get a spot at any restaurant without a reservation and we didn’t have a chance to make one.

Basically mandatory to taste gelato in every city

And the grand finale: our ten year vow renewal! <3 We received the saddest email imaginable the day before our vow renewal :’(

We decided it wasn’t worth spending a bunch of money on the road hunting down lavender fields in 90+ degree heat so we unfortunately canceled with our photographer and film folks. They were so lovely and supportive, agreeing this was the best decision.

However, we didn’t come all the way to south of France during peak heat in July to not experience the lavender fields. We rolled up our sleeves and found gorgeous lavender fields still in bloom in our stunning Airbnb village of Establoun and took our own photos and film!!

Our Airbnb was immaculately decorated so we decided to also document our getting ready process :)

It all turned out ok :) We thank God for his many blessings and for sustaining us through the last ten years. It’s been the best adventure of my life and we can’t wait to continue walking through life together.
